I’ve been trying to get a pic , but there is an orange one driving around. Looks glorious in person. No mistaking what it is. I’m in Bowling Green today. I guess all the Corvette big wigs are out driving it...

Yeah. It does.

From the front of the rear wheel back it just looks like a Camaro.

Agreed - whereas I think the C7 looks better with the spoiler, this definitely looks better without the wing.

Looks like an actual sports car

It looks fantastic, and like a much more expensive exotic.

But does it have exposed fasteners inside the doors?

I think it looks better wingless because the wing over-accentuates the blocky back end styling. But I prefer the performance bits in the Z51 package which sadly includes the wing.
That back end would be perfect with a Gurney flap style spoiler like this.

The real question is - what’s our faste ner situation on the C8? Exposed? Concealed?

At first glance I thought “ooh Camero.” I think the design language translated well.
Also- cars that left the factory with wings look better without them generally. The inverse is also true.

Has a lot of McLaren in it without the wing. Like a mid cycle refresh on a 720. The one thing I think looks a little cheap is the engine cover. Reminds me of what a ski boat would put on their engine 10 years ago.

Yes, I’ve been thinking the rear reminded me of a McLaren. The line that swoops up over the rear wheel then down and around the back. From the front and side I just see Corvette though.

... That does look better.

10-year-old ski-boat chic is a perfect description of how I view the last, say, 30 years of Corvette design. Not a direct inspiration so much as a shared aesthetic or design philosophy.
ETA: admittedly, I like the new one quite a bit.

I don’t hate it... I just wish it were a bit ‘cleaner’
The front end, and the rear fascia have a lot of bulk, and a lot of extra lines and creases.
There are 4 body seams that intersect the faux quarter windows, making the body look like a puzzle.
I am not sure that there is a better way, but the chevron for the rear fender intake crosses the door shut line that adds to the oddity.
The rear looks squashed, and the tail lights look rudimentary, and actually the headlights do, too, along with the glossy black plastic in the front grille.
It looks better than C7... but still over-styled, and not quite truly amazing. Fewer shut lines, fewer gimmicks, and smoother, more lithe surfacing would make it amazing. Corvette has had that before, just not very recently.
But it does appear like it will be a good value.

I’m afraid to find out.

Concealed, at the moment.

That’s actually kind of amazing. A lot of rear/mid engine cars you need to take like the back half of the car off to be able to service.

A Camaro mated with a Ferrari. It’s a mutt.
